In a daring display of bravery, a Florida police officer leapt into action yesterday evening to rescue a pizza delivery guy from the deadly grip of a marauding alligator.
The drama unfolded on a quiet suburban street in Fort Lauderdale, where 25-year-old pizza delivery driver, Jimmy Johnson, was making his way to a hungry customer’s doorstep when suddenly, a massive 12-foot alligator emerged from the depths of a nearby swamp.
The gator, estimated to weigh over 500 pounds, blocked Johnson’s path, its beady eyes fixed menacingly on the pizza-laden vehicle.
“I was just trying to do my job, and then suddenly, I’m face to face with a prehistoric predator,” a shaken Johnson recounted. “I mean, who expects to see a gator in their rearview mirror?”
Enter our hero, Officer Mike Martinez, who happened to be patrolling the area in his squad car. Spotting the commotion, Martinez sprang into action, leaping from his vehicle and charging towards the snarling reptile.

The gator, whose name has been dubbed “Gnorm” by local residents, was eventually coaxed back into the swamp with a promise of a free pizza party.
When asked for comment, Gnorm’s agent released a statement saying, “We’re exploring opportunities for a Netflix series based on this incident. Stay tuned.”
As for Martinez, he’s just happy to have made it back to the precinct in one piece – with his sense of humor intact.
“I mean, it’s just another day in Florida,” he chuckled. “Where the alligators are as crazy as the people.”
