**BREAKING: Wales Ambulance Service Overwhelmed by Bizarre 999 Calls**

In a shocking revelation, the Welsh Ambulance Service has come forward to reveal the most absurd, hilarious, and downright bizarre 999 calls they’ve received over the past year. And, honestly, it’s a wonder their phones haven’t melted from the sheer ridiculousness of it all!

According to the service, some of the most “inappropriate” calls they’ve received include:

* A man who phoned 999 because his finger was stuck in a beer bottle and he couldn’t get it out, despite having no injuries and being perfectly fine otherwise. We’re pretty sure that’s what happens when you try to drink an entire pint in one go.
* A person who called for an ambulance because their pet alligator got loose in their house and they couldn’t catch it. We’re not sure what’s more surprising, the fact that someone owns a pet alligator or that it managed to escape!
* A woman who rang 999 because she was “dying of thirst” and needed someone to bring her a glass of water. We’re pretty sure that’s what taps are for, but hey, we guess some people just like a good excuse to call the emergency services.
* A man who called because he had eaten a bad curry and was feeling “a bit poorly”. We’re pretty sure that’s what takeaway menus are for, mate.
* A person who phoned 999 because their cat was stuck in a tree and they couldn’t get it down. We’re not sure what’s more surprising, the fact that someone’s cat got stuck in a tree or that they thought the ambulance service would actually send someone to rescue it.

The Welsh Ambulance Service has urged people to only call 999 in genuine emergencies, saying: “We understand that sometimes people need help, but please, for the love of all things sane, don’t call us because your cat is stuck in a tree or you’re thirsty! We have better things to do than rescue you from your own incompetence.”

In a statement, a spokesperson for the service said: “We’re just glad that no one was seriously hurt in these incidents, but we do wish people would use their common sense and not clog up our lines with non-emergency calls. Unless, of course, your cat is stuck in a tree. In that case, we’ll send someone to rescue it. But only if it’s a really cute cat.”
