**MIRACLE IN SUBURBAN TEXAS: Baby Deer Rescued from Storm Drain**
A dramatic rescue unfolded in the suburban neighborhood of Plano, Texas, on Tuesday evening, as a team of quick-thinking responders saved a baby deer trapped in a storm drain.
The ordeal began when a concerned citizen, Sarah Johnson, heard the faint cries of a distressed animal coming from a storm drain in her neighborhood. She immediately contacted local animal control, who sprang into action.
“I was walking my dog when I heard the pitiful cries,” Johnson said in an interview. “I looked around and saw the little deer trying to get out of the storm drain, but it was stuck. I knew I had to act fast.”
Responding officers from the Plano Animal Services department quickly arrived on the scene, assessing the situation and determining the best course of action. With the help of a specialized rescue team, they carefully extracted the deer from the narrow drain.
“It was a delicate operation,” said Plano Animal Services Officer, Emily Rodriguez. “The deer was frightened and struggling, but our team was able to calm it down and secure it safely.”
The baby deer, estimated to be just a few weeks old, was transported to a local wildlife rehabilitation center for further care and treatment.
“We’re thrilled that the little one is safe and receiving the care it needs,” said Rodriguez. “It’s a great reminder of the importance of being aware of our surroundings and taking action when we encounter animals in distress.”
The dramatic rescue was captured on camera by a bystander, which quickly went viral on social media. The video shows the baby deer, wobbly on its legs, being carefully lifted out of the storm drain and handed over to waiting responders.
The Plano Animal Services department is urging residents to be mindful of wildlife, especially during severe weather events, and to report any sightings of distressed or trapped animals.
As for the baby deer, it is expected to make a full recovery and be released back into the wild once it is deemed healthy enough.
