Bear’s love for peanut M&M’s causes chaos in Colorado
Colorado is no stranger to furry wildlife incidents, but this time the perpetrator wasn’t just any old raccoon or squirrel. The culprits were the grin-worthy, cuddly bears!
According to wildlife officials, the prime suspect, a hefty black bear went on a spree of satisfying his sweet tooths on Thursday. As per the sources, the hungry bear sniffed out a parked car with a delightful stash of peanut M&M’s residing inside and without much thought greeted himself inside the car through the open window.
However, this curious taste-test turned criminal when the mischievous thief ran off with the entire pack, leaving nothing but an unsavory gift for the car owner. The payment for the swiped M&M’s came in the form of a strong stench of bear-dropping left behind in the back seat.
The officials believe that the bear had been hiding and waiting for the perfect time to commit this crime, hence his inexperienced behavior while leaving behind clues. His lack of skill set was noted by one of the investigating officers, who stated, “He was a rookie burglar, to be honest. He didn’t think about his personal hygiene while conducting this heist. I mean seriously, who leaves behind a poop as obvious as that?”
The fate of this inexperienced criminal remains unknown. However, the owner of the car has decided to take matters into their own hands, launching an investigation to identify the honest face behind the mischief. When asked about the incident, the car owner stated, “I just couldn’t believe it. I mean, out of all the things he could have taken, why my peanut M&M’s! And now I have to deal with the stinky gift he left behind? Not cool.”
Meanwhile, the bear community in Colorado seems to be in a jubilant mood with the news of the incident. One of their representatives, a jovial and plump brown bear, expressed his feelings, “It’s always great to see some of our own making the headlines but really, couldn’t he have chosen something else? I mean, I prefer Twix over M&M’s. For all the years I’ve been here, I’ve never seen a bear settle for M&M’s just like that. He should know better.”
The incident has caused quite a stir in the local community with people now having to be extra vigilant while leaving their cars unattended with visible tempting treats. Wildlife officials have issued a statement advising locals to avoid leaving food in sight and also, advocating for a no-parking policy across the bear roaming areas.
With the pandemic disrupting human life, bears and other wildlife has been seen venturing out of their habitats in search of food and shelter, leading to increased incidents with humans. In such a scenario, it’s essential that we protect our wildlife and learn to coexist with them without infringing on their habitats. It’s high time we start taking precautions and be vigilant. Who knows, the next time it may not just be a pack of M&M’s that’s missing.
