Tiny, helpless and utterly adorable – there’s no animal more irresistible than a kitten in distress. So, it’s no surprise that everyone in the neighborhood of Princeton, New Jersey, is breathing a collective sigh of relief now that a little feline has been successfully extracted from a fraternity desk.

In a spectacle that attracted both locals and media teams from CNN and NBC, a team of skilled firefighters from Princeton Station quelled the mewing of a small black and white kitten that had been stuck in the trash bin of a frat house desk for over two days.

According to witnesses, who could barely contain their tears of joy and relief once the kitten had been saved, the frat house students were unsympathetic to the furry creature’s plight.

“They let it suffer for days on end,” claimed a woman who preferred to remain anonymous. “They even joked about keeping its distress calls as their phone’s ringtone.”
