You know what’s Not on Roids, but definitely grating on everyones nerves at the ski resort? The sheer volume of things people do that actively make skiing less enjoyable for literally everyone else. Seriously, are we all just operating under different sets of physics? Lets dissect this mess.
First up: Parking like a competitive eater. We get it, you’re excited to shred. But hogging two spots or leaving enough space to parallel park a small yacht isn’t charming; it’s rude. Apparently, 1995 never happened for some people. Theyre still out there thinking they’re cool because they leave a gap big enough to launch a rocket ship between cars. The only exception is when the ice melts and you need space so your car doesn’t become a rogue iceberg – then, fine, be generous.
Then we have the helmet situation. Look, helmets arent just for grandmas anymore. Theyre comfy, they’re warm, and yes, even fashionable if thats your thing (stickers? Gaper gap? Go wild!). But wear one. It’s not a fashion statement to risk brain damage.
Backcountry skin track etiquette is also apparently a lost art. Setting a path straight up a mountain simply because you can’t be bothered with kick turns? Unforgivable! And placing those precious kick turns in the most avalanche-prone spots? Just…why? Remember, someone will follow your trail and its your responsibility to make that journey safe.
Honestly, skiers. Have some consideration. It’s a small hill, lets not make it a battlefield of bad choices.
