The Future is Here, Folks: Its Also Apparently Destructive
So, Chicago. Windy City, deep-dish pizza, and now…delivery robot demolition derby? Seriously? Two incidents in days of these automated wonders careening into bus shelters? Let’s just pause for a moment and appreciate the sheer brilliance of this plan. We were promised convenience! Efficiency! A futuristic utopia where robots bring us lukewarm coffee and slightly-squashed pastries! What we got was…metal carnage.
And someone, somewhere, thought this was a good idea. Clearly, rigorous testing involved gently nudging them toward soft pillows, not concrete structures full of waiting commuters. Because who needs bus shelters anyway? They’re just inconvenient obstacles in the path of progress – or whatever you want to call it when a glorified Roomba with wheels decides to take out a public amenity.
The video footage is truly something to behold: this little metal box, programmed for polite delivery, just…charges ahead! Its almost charmingly oblivious to its surroundings. Almost. Because while I’m sure the engineers are busy patting themselves on the back about innovation, someone has to pay for the repairs and probably apologize profusely to the people who were trying to wait for a bus.
I cant wait to see what else these automated marvels accomplish! Perhaps theyll start directing traffic? Or maybe delivering mail directly into unsuspecting pedestrians’ faces? The possibilities are truly…endless.
