**BREAKING: LEOPARD ON THE LOOSE… OR IS IT?**

New Delhi, India – In a bizarre incident that has left residents of the national capital on high alert, the Delhi Police were forced to issue a strongly-worded denial yesterday that a leopard had been spotted roaming the streets near the Prime Minister’s swearing-in ceremony.

According to eyewitnesses (okay, maybe just one guy on Twitter), a “sleek and agile” leopard was seen casually strolling through the streets of New Delhi, sending shockwaves of excitement and terror throughout the city.

“I was just on my way to get a venti iced coffee when I saw this… this… thing!” exclaimed local resident Rohan Sharma. “It was like a big cat, but not too big. Maybe like, a medium-sized cat? Yeah, that’s it.”

However, when questioned further, Sharma admitted that he was actually just trying to get a good spot to watch the swearing-in ceremony and didn’t actually see anything.

Meanwhile, officials from the Delhi Police were quick to quash the rumors, insisting that there was no evidence to support the claim of a leopard on the loose.

“We have thoroughly investigated the area and found no evidence of a leopard,” said a senior police officer. “It’s possible that someone saw a large domestic cat, or maybe even a really fluffy dog. But a leopard? No way.”

Despite the police denial, social media was abuzz with speculation and hilarity, with many residents sharing their own sightings of the alleged leopard.

“I saw it! It was like, right outside my window!” tweeted @DelhiDude88. “Or maybe it was just my neighbor’s cat, Mr. Whiskers. Hard to say, really.”

In related news, local pet stores reported a surge in sales of leopard-print accessories and catnip toys.

The Prime Minister, meanwhile, remained unfazed by the commotion, tweeting “All is well in Delhi. No leopards here, just politics as usual #PMlife”

The incident serves as a reminder to always keep a watchful eye out for wild animals, or at least, to keep a good sense of humor about it.
