**BREAKING: Squirrely Situation Unfolds in Local Barbershop**
In a bizarre incident that has left residents of Oakdale scratching their heads, a family of baby squirrels was rescued from inside the walls of “Bobby’s Barber Shop” yesterday afternoon.
According to eyewitnesses, the bushy-tailed brood had apparently taken up residence behind the barber shop’s drywall, where they had been living rent-free and causing chaos.
“It was like they had a squirrel-sized apartment in there,” said barber Bob Smith, who made the astonishing discovery while searching for a missing pair of scissors. “I was looking for my favorite clippers, and instead, I found a family of squirrels having a party!”
The baby squirrels, estimated to be around 6-8 weeks old, were reportedly “going nuts” (pun intended) as they scampered about the wall cavity, chasing each other and playing hide-and-seek among the insulation.
“I heard a faint rustling sound, and then suddenly, a tiny squirrel face peeked out from behind a ventilation grate,” said Smith. “I was shocked, but also kind of impressed by their DIY skills. I mean, who needs a fancy builder when you’ve got a family of squirrels?”
Local animal control officer, Jane Doe, was called to the scene, and she quickly sprang into action, carefully extracting the squirrels from their cozy little abode.
“It was like a mini-squirrel evacuation,” said Doe, who estimated that there were at least 5-6 baby squirrels in the wall. “They were all snuggled up together, looking like they were having the time of their lives. I’m just glad we were able to reunite them with their overjoyed mother, who was frantically searching for them outside.”
The baby squirrels are currently being cared for at a local wildlife rehabilitation center, where they are being fed a diet of acorns and…well, let’s just say they’re getting a lot of nuts.
As for Bobby’s Barber Shop, it’s back to business as usual, with the added bonus of a newfound reputation as the most…erm… “wild” barber shop in town.
**UPDATE:** The barber shop has announced plans to install squirrel-proof vents and offer a special “Squirrely Haircut” discount for customers who bring in a donation for the local wildlife rehabilitation center.
