Florida Reptile Park “Thrilled” to Take in Disfigured Alligator
In what can only be described as a heartwarming tale of redemption, a Florida reptile park has welcomed a new resident: an alligator missing its nose and upper jaw, likely due to a fight or an unfortunate encounter with a boat propeller. The park, located in the heart of the sunshine state where mishaps like this are all too common, says it’s “thrilled” to be providing a home to the disfigured creature.
“Obviously, we’re devastated by what’s happened to this poor alligator,” said park representative Debbie Smith. “But we’re also really excited to have him here. It’s not every day you get to add a ‘gator with half a face to the collection.”
The alligator, who goes by the name “Gator McStumps,” was first spotted by park visitors wandering along a nearby riverbank. According to eyewitnesses, the creature looked “pretty gnarly.” Photos taken by observers show an animal missing most of its top jaw and a large portion of its snout, leaving the pink flesh of its nasal cavity completely exposed.
