Surprising Call Made to Capture Non-Native Animal in Tennessee
Tennessee wildlife officials have had their hands full with a call that left them feeling shocked and bewildered. Apparently, officers were called to catch a 4-foot alligator that had been spotted roaming around a local neighborhood. Yes, you read that right – an alligator in Tennessee.
According to officials, it was a “surprising call” to say the least. Not because of the unusual sighting of an alligator, but rather because it’s unclear how the heck an alligator ended up in Tennessee in the first place. I mean, it’s not like they’re known to pack their bags and migrate that far north. Maybe it was on vacation. Who knows?
“The animal was caught by our officers and turned over to a nearby zoo,” said one wildlife official. “We’re just glad that no one was hurt and that the animal was safely captured.”
Of course, it makes sense that the alligator was taken to a nearby zoo. Where else would it go, right? Maybe the alligator can put on a show or two for the kiddies. Or better yet, maybe it can feature in an alligator vs. crocodile exhibit. Talk about some good old-fashioned family fun.
When asked about the situation, one local resident remarked, “I’ve lived here for 30 years and I’ve never seen anything like this. I didn’t even know that alligators could survive in this climate. It’s insane!”
Yes, it is indeed insane. Or maybe it’s just evolution at work. Who are we to question what animals can and cannot do? Maybe this alligator is a trailblazer, leading the pack of alligators on a new migration path to the north. Maybe it’s just a rebel, trying to escape the confines of its swampy home down south. The possibilities are endless.
In the meantime, local residents are advised to keep a close eye on their kiddos and to not leave their cat or dog outside unattended. After all, who knows what other non-native creatures are just waiting to make a surprise appearance in our backyards?
As for the alligator, let’s hope it’s having a good time in its new home at the zoo. Maybe it’s getting the royal treatment, chowing down on some exotic meats and basking in a heated pond. Or maybe, just maybe, it’s plotting its next escape. Watch out, Tennessee. You never know what could be lurking around the corner.
