Unfortunate Baboon Meets 20 Canine Friends

In a once-in-a-lifetime experience, a lone baboon was gifted with the opportunity to spend some quality time with 20 of its closest friends: African wild dogs. The baboon, who clearly ignored the “safety in numbers” principle, found itself smack in the middle of this friendly pack.

Witnesses claim that the baboon appeared to be having a splendid time as it bounced around the dogs, playing a game of “tag” that none of the dogs seemed to understand. As the sun began to set on the African savannah, the baboon realized that it might be time to leave the pack and find its way back to civilization.

Unfortunately, the dogs had other ideas.

Maybe they just didn’t want to see their new friend go, or maybe they were all wearing invisible force fields, but try as it might, the baboon couldn’t seem to find a way out. Reports indicate that it tried climbing a nearby tree and even attempted to fly (we’re not sure how it thought it could accomplish this, but kudos for trying).

As the hours ticked by and the baboon grew increasingly tired, it became clear that this wasn’t just a friendly hangout session. The dogs were closing in, and the baboon’s escape was looking less and less likely.

Thankfully, a group of conservationists spotted the scene and were able to intervene. They coaxed the wild dogs away, giving the baboon the chance to retreat to safety.

While we’re sure the baboon will treasure its time with the pack of wild dogs, we’re also pretty certain it won’t be signing up for a repeat experience any time soon. It’s unclear what the future holds for this particular baboon, but one thing’s for certain – it’s got a story to tell for the ages.
