**BREAKING: SNAKE ON THE LOOSE! Chaos Erupts as Reptilian Renegade Brings Tokyo Commute to a Standstill**

In a bizarre incident that will go down in the annals of Japanese railway history, a slithery saboteur brought Tokyo’s busiest commuter train to a grinding halt, leaving approximately 2,700 passengers delayed, stranded, and utterly snake-bitten.

According to eyewitnesses, the serpentine culprit – a slithery snake estimated to be around 3 feet in length – was spotted slithering through the train’s luggage rack, sending shockwaves of terror through the crowded carriages.

“I was just trying to get to work on time, and suddenly there was a snake in my face!” exclaimed Tokyo commuter, Yui Nakamura. “I mean, I’m used to dealing with crowded trains and rude passengers, but a snake? That’s just crazy talk!”

The East Japan Railroad Co. confirmed that the snake, identified as a non-venomous Japanese rat snake, was safely removed from the train and released back into the wild. However, not before it had brought the entire train to a standstill, causing widespread delays and disruptions to the morning commute.

“It was like something out of a horror movie,” said commuter Taro Matsumoto. “I was squished in like a sardine, and then suddenly everyone was screaming and running around like headless chickens. I thought for sure it was the end of the world!”

The incident has left many passengers shaken, but thankfully, no one was seriously injured. However, the psychological trauma inflicted on the 2,700 delayed commuters may take weeks, if not months, to recover from.

In a statement, the East Japan Railroad Co. apologized for the inconvenience and promised to increase snake-deterrent measures on its trains. When asked for comment, a company spokesperson quipped, “We’re just glad no one was bitten… this time.”

The incident serves as a stark reminder: when it comes to commuting in Tokyo, you never know when a snake in the grass – or in this case, on the train – might throw a wrench into your day.
