BOSTON, MA – In a shocking display of bravado, former Celtics legend Paul Pierce made a jaw-dropping guarantee that has left fans and fellow analysts alike scratching their heads.

“I’ll walk to work… in my robe, bare feet, and with a sandwich board that reads ‘I’m a Celtics hater’ if they lose to the Knicks for a second straight game,” Pierce declared in a bold pre-game prediction. “And that’s not all – I’ll be singing ‘I Will Survive’ on top of my lungs while doing a choreographed dance routine in the middle of the street.”

The Celtics, looking to bounce back from a Game 1 drubbing, took to the court with renewed determination. But as the game tipped off, it became clear that Pierce’s confidence may have been misplaced. The Knicks were on fire, with their star point guard sinking shot after shot and the Celtics’ defense looking like a sieve.

As the final buzzer sounded, the Celtics had indeed suffered a second straight loss, and Pierce was left to ponder the consequences of his bold claim. Fans and onlookers held their collective breath as Pierce, still clutching his microphone, began to make his way to work – literally.

In a surreal scene, Pierce was spotted walking down the street, clad only in his robe, his bare feet slapping against the pavement. A cardboard sandwich board hung around his neck, emblazoned with the message “I’m a Celtics hater.” As he walked, he sang a loud and off-key rendition of “I Will Survive” while performing a choreographed dance routine that would put a Broadway performer to shame.

The crowd that gathered to watch was in stitches, with some fans even joining in on the fun. One onlooker was overheard saying, “I’ve never seen anything like it! I mean, I’ve seen some crazy things in my life, but this takes the cake… or should I say, the sandwich board?”

As Pierce approached the Celtics’ practice facility, his teammates and coaches looked on in a mix of awe and horror. “Paul, what have you done?” one teammate asked, shaking his head.

Pierce, still singing and dancing, simply grinned and said, “Hey, a man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do. And besides, it was worth it just to see the look on your faces!”

The Celtics organization has since announced that Pierce will be required to wear a Celtics jersey and sneakers for the rest of the week as “penance” for his bold claim. Pierce, meanwhile, has vowed to be back at practice tomorrow, ready to lead his team to victory – and hopefully, to a return to sanity.
