**BREAKING: FLORIDA POLICE OFFICER SAVES PIZZA DELIVERY FROM JAWS OF DEATH**
In a bizarre incident that has left residents of suburban Florida shaken, not stirred, a pizza delivery driver got more than he bargained for when he arrived at a local residence to find an 8-foot alligator lounging in the driveway.
According to eyewitnesses, the delivery driver, who wishes to remain anonymous, was about to hand over a steaming hot pie to a hungry customer when he spotted the gargantuan reptile blocking his path.
“I was just trying to do my job, and then I saw it,” said the delivery driver, still visibly shaken. “I mean, I’ve seen some crazy things in my time, but an 8-foot alligator in someone’s driveway? That’s just not normal.”
Enter our hero, Officer Mike Jenkins, who just happened to be patrolling the neighborhood when he received a frantic call from the delivery driver.
” Dispatch told me there was a ‘gator situation’ at 345 Pine Street, and I thought to myself, ‘Only in Florida,'” said Officer Jenkins with a chuckle. “I arrived on the scene to find the delivery driver about 10 feet away from the alligator, which was looking like it hadn’t eaten in weeks.”
Without hesitation, Officer Jenkins sprang into action, carefully approaching the alligator while shouting, “Don’t worry, buddy, I’ve got this!” The alligator, seemingly unimpressed, continued to bask in the sun, its beady eyes fixed on the pizza.
In a daring move, Officer Jenkins grabbed a nearby broom and used it to gently coax the alligator away from the delivery driver, who was frozen in terror.
“It was like something out of a movie,” said the delivery driver. “I mean, I’ve seen The Crocodile Hunter, but this was real life!”
With the alligator safely relocated to a nearby lake, Officer Jenkins helped the delivery driver complete his mission, handing the piping hot pizza to the grateful customer.
“I just did my job,” said Officer Jenkins with a grin. “But I have to say, this is definitely a first for me. I mean, who needs a pizza party when you’ve got an alligator party crasher?”
The customer, who wished to remain anonymous, was thrilled to receive his pizza and offered Officer Jenkins a free pie as a thank you.
As for the alligator, it’s been fitted with a GPS tracker and is reportedly doing well in its new aquatic home.
And as for Officer Jenkins? He’s just happy to have made it back to the precinct without becoming someone’s dinner.
