**BREAKING: WILD ANIMAL ON THE LOOSE IN OKLAHOMA… AND IT’S A DOOZY!**
In a thrilling tale of adventure and utter chaos, a serval, a large and exotic African wildcat, was finally captured yesterday evening after a 2-day rampage through the streets of Oklahoma.
The serval, estimated to be around 40 pounds of pure, unadulterated furry menace, was first spotted roaming the streets of Tulsa on Tuesday morning, leaving a trail of bewildered residents and destroyed garden gnomes in its wake.
“I was just sipping my coffee and getting ready for work when I saw this… this… THING running down the street,” said local resident, Jane Doe. “I mean, I’ve seen some weird stuff in Oklahoma before, but this was on a whole other level. I thought it was a lion, but then I looked it up and it’s like, a lion’s cool cousin or something.”
The serval, whose name has been dubbed “Safari” by local animal control, was reportedly seen chasing squirrels, knocking over trash cans, and even attempting to “help” with a game of fetch with a group of startled children.
“It was like it was trying to win some kind of award for ‘Most Likely to Steal the Show’,” said Tulsa Police Officer, John Smith. “We’ve had reports of it jumping over fences, climbing trees, and even doing a few laps around the local dog park. It was like it was training for the Olympics or something.”
After a two-day manhunt (or rather, animal hunt), Safari was finally corralled and captured by a team of brave and slightly traumatized animal control officers.
“We’re just glad it’s safe and sound, and that no one was seriously hurt… except for maybe the garden gnomes,” said Tulsa Animal Control Officer, Sarah Johnson. “We’re still trying to figure out how it escaped from its previous owner, but we’re just glad it’s not still on the loose, terrorizing the good people of Oklahoma.”
Safari is currently being held at the Tulsa Zoo, where it will remain until a permanent home can be found for the exotic feline.
In the meantime, residents of Tulsa are breathing a sigh of relief and wondering what other wild adventures await them in the Sooner State.
**UPDATE:** The Tulsa Zoo has announced that Safari will be available for viewing starting next week, and that all proceeds will go towards funding the zoo’s new “Exotic Animal Containment Unit” (aka “The Safari Squad”).
