**BREAKING: BEAVER ON THE LOOSE!**
In a bizarre incident that has left residents of Utica, New York on high alert, officials at the local zoo announced that a sneaky beaver has escaped from its enclosure and is currently roaming free in the community.
According to eyewitnesses, the beaver, identified as “Bucky” by zoo officials, made a daring escape from its habitat late Tuesday evening, using a combination of its impressive engineering skills and cunning to outsmart zoo staff.
“We are taking this situation very seriously,” said zoo spokesperson, Jane Smith. “We have deployed a team of highly trained drone operators to scour the city and track down Bucky before it causes any more chaos.”
The drones, equipped with state-of-the-art thermal imaging and beaver-detecting software, have been buzzing around the city since dawn, searching high and low for any sign of the elusive rodent.
“It’s like a beaver-hunting game out there,” said Utica Police Chief, John Doe. “We’re urging residents to remain calm, but to also be on the lookout for any signs of Bucky’s whereabouts. We don’t want anyone to get too close and risk being, you know, beaver-napped.”
As the search continues, residents are being advised to secure any loose outdoor furniture, garden hoses, and especially any prized water features, as Bucky has been known to have a taste for luxury landscaping.
Meanwhile, local business owners are capitalizing on the situation, selling “I Beaver-ived the Great Escape” t-shirts and “Bucky’s Beaver Bash” merchandise.
The Utica Zoo has promised a reward for any information leading to Bucky’s safe capture and return to its enclosure, where it will allegedly be treated to a special “beaver- spa day” to prevent any future Houdini-like escapes.
Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story, and in the meantime, keep those garden gnomes close and your wits about you – Bucky the beaver is on the loose!
