Denver International Airport has always tried to keep its customers entertained, whether it’s through the stunning murals lining the terminal walls or the occasional Lost and Found surprises waiting to be discovered. And boy, have they outdone themselves this time! In their latest press release, our favorite airport has revealed some of the most bizarre items ever to pass through their Lost and Found department.
According to the airport’s spokesperson, “Our Lost and Found team never knows what they’ll find next. But even they were surprised by some of these items.” And boy, are we surprised too! Who knew that a circular saw and elk meat were high on the list of items that people just can’t seem to keep track of?
In today’s day and age, losing your phone or your passport might be considered normal, but elk meat? That’s just truly special. We can envision the frantic traveler now, panicking as they realize they left their prized moose jerky behind at security. And don’t even get us started on the circular saw – how does one lose such a thing in the first place?
But that’s not all that the good people of Denver International Airport have found. In addition to the meat and the saw, there were also some pretty strange pieces of luggage; including a mounted deer head (because checking that in as carry-on is always a good idea), a large jar filled with sand (let’s hope the traveler wasn’t planning on building a beach on the plane); and a LIVE BEAVER. Yes, you read that right – a real, live beaver was found aimlessly wandering around the airport grounds.
If that doesn’t make you want to book your next trip to Denver through this airport, we don’t know what will. Who needs the traditional tourist attractions when you can go searching for stray wildlife at baggage claim?
In their statement, the airport assured us that all of these items were reunited with their rightful owners (except for the beaver – he was safely released back into the wild). We can only imagine the reactions of those owners upon being reunited with their elk meat and circular saw. Perhaps they were delighted to have found their long-lost belongings, or maybe they were left questioning just how they managed to lose them in the first place.
Whatever the case, Denver International Airport has once again proven that they are unique, quirky, and just a little bit wild. So next time you’re passing through their terminal, keep an eye out for any stray animals or power tools – you never know what treasures you might stumble upon.
