South Carolina’s miniature horse breeders and enthusiasts are in a state of ecstatic delirium as one of their little buddies decided to make a big statement by breaking a world record. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the time has come to sit down and take a deep breath because this horse has a tail that puts Rapunzel to shame.
This record-breaking horse, who is reportedly extremely humble and does not let his tail’s fame get to his head, belongs to a breeder named Crystalyn Whitaker. She stated that her 1-year-old stallion “JLo’s Diamond” had a tail that was measured at a whopping 5 feet, 11.26 inches. In case you’re wondering, that’s roughly the height of an adult human male.
Now, we’ve all seen horses with tails that we can only describe as beautiful and majestic, but who knew that miniature horses could also pack that kind of heat? I mean, I thought miniature horses were only useful for kids’ birthday parties and carnival rides. But this stallion has proven that they are no runts when it comes to tail length. Move over Clydesdales, there’s a new bigwig in town.
Reports state that JLo’s Diamond tail is so long that it can actually touch the ground. I can just picture him walking around with his tail dragging behind him and a strut like he’s on the catwalk. He’s probably being flocked by paparazzi as we speak, but I digress.
In all seriousness though, the fact that a miniature horse has broken a world record is amazing. South Carolina’s Crystalyn can now boast that she owns the horse with the longest tail in the world. I don’t know about you, but if I had a horse like that, I’d be throwing a party every day for the rest of my life.
JLo’s Diamond’s tail is so long that it makes me wonder how he even manages to get around without tripping over it. I’m sure the tail adds some kind of aerodynamic feature when he’s galloping away from predators, or maybe it acts as a parachute when he’s jumping over fences. All I know is that JLo’s Diamond has set the bar high for all those other miniature horses out there who think they are hot stuff.
With all the madness happening in the world, it’s great to see that we can still take a step back and appreciate the small things. And, if that small thing happens to have a tail with a length equivalent to a human being’s height, well, that’s even better.
