SURPRISE! Charter Fishing Boat Catches Far More Than Just Fish
In a shocking (not so shocking) turn of events, a charter fishing boat captain in Australia recently caught a little more than he anticipated whilst casting his net into the water. Instead of reeling in a few fish, the captain found himself ensnaring a rather unexpected and ferocious catch — a whopping great big crocodile!
The incident, which happened off the coast of Darwin, saw the unsuspecting captain toss his net into the water. But instead of the usual slimy and scaly marine life, his net came up heavy with the weight of something much larger and more menacing.
“It was just a little bit scary,” the captain recounted afterwards. “I didn’t really expect to get a crocodile in my net, but I suppose that’s just the luck of the draw!”
Indeed, that is not the usual haul one would expect while charter fishing. But this is Australia, where everything is a little more terrifying. Who needs to catch a few measly fish when you can hook a massive crocodile instead? After all, what’s a bit of heart-racing fear amongst friends?
After the captain and his crew got over their initial shock, they set about carefully trying to free the crocodile from the net. But as we all know, crocs aren’t exactly known for their easy-going natures. The ferocious beast soon became agitated and started thrashing around in the water wildly, snapping its jaws menacingly and generally making a nuisance of itself.
The charter boat captain and his team eventually managed to free the crocodile from the net, but not without a few close calls and a truly heart-stopping moment or two.
“We had to be very careful and make sure we got it back in the water as quickly as possible,” the captain explained. “We didn’t want to hurt it or ourselves in the process.”
Well, it’s refreshing to know that even in the face of danger (albeit a self-created one), the crew were still putting the welfare of the crocodile first. Hats off to you, heroes of the high seas.
The incident has naturally gone viral online, with many people sharing their thoughts on the captain’s surprise catch. Some are hailing him as a hero, while others are questioning why anyone would even consider casting a net in crocodile-infested waters in the first place.
