In what Houstonians are calling “the greatest innovation since sliced bread,” a local resident captured a loose monkey hiding under his pickup truck.
The incident happened early this morning in a suburban area, where residents were shocked to see a monkey running loose in a neighborhood where monkeys are not the norm.
The monkey, apparently new to the area, had been spotted by several residents trying to find a new home, before it eventually found shelter underneath the pickup truck. Never before has a monkey been seen in such desperate predicament.
One resident, who wished to be unnamed, briefly spoke with us. He said, “I was sitting in my backyard, enjoying my morning coffee, when I saw this creature running across my lawn. At first, I thought it was a neighbor’s pet, but on second thought, it was too agile. And then he was under my neighbor’s pickup truck, making strange calls.”
It wasn’t long before the news had spread, and several animal activists were called to the scene. The monkey, however, had already been captured by the resident himself, relying on the good ol’ Texas ingenuity that is known throughout the region.
The monkey, according to local authorities, will be transferred to the Houston Zoo, where it will be given a chance to start a new life away from the harsh realities of suburban Houston.
Several years back, loose monkeys in Texas were a common phenomenon, with some even making headlines on national news. However, now the norm has changed, and Texans are more lost and upset than ever before.
