Local clothing store Old Navy found themselves with an unexpected visitor on Monday morning when a deer crashed through their front window in South Carolina. The deer, who has not yet been named or interviewed for comment, somehow managed to leap over the adjacent Pier 1 Imports store and continue straight through the glass entrance of the popular clothing chain.

While witnesses were initially concerned for the deer’s wellbeing, it quickly became apparent that the animal had simply made a very poor fashion choice and was looking for a quick wardrobe update. “It just crashed right in through the door, headed straight for the clearance rack,” said store manager Janet Todd. “I guess it heard our $1 flip-flop sale was too good to miss.”

Despite causing a significant amount of damage to both the store’s front window and an array of pastel cashmere sweaters, the deer seemed unfazed by the incident. “It just calmly trotted around the store, sniffing at prices and nuzzling against customers,” said one shopper who witnessed the bizarre scene.

As staff and customers attempted to herd the deer towards the exits, the deer made another surprising move, heading straight for the store’s denim section. “I’ve never seen anything like it,” commented retail assistant Trevor Jones. “It seemed like the deer had its sights set on a pair of high-waisted mom jeans.”

While the deer eventually made its way back outside, it did so on its own terms, taking with it several bags of discounted clothing and a dreamcatcher wind-chime from the store’s home decor department.

Despite the obvious confusion and chaos caused by the incident, the deer’s impromptu fashion spree has been seen as a positive for the store. “We’ve had people come up from as far as Jacksonville to see what all the fuss is about,” said Todd. “They’re hoping to get their hands on whatever the deer’s been wearing – and frankly, who can blame them?”

As for Old Navy’s window, while it may take some time and money to fix, the store is choosing to look on the bright side. “Sure, it might seem like a costly and inconvenient situation,” said Todd. “But think of all the publicity we’re getting. I mean, when was the last time anyone talked about Old Navy?”

In the meantime, local animal control officials are advising residents to be on the lookout for any other fashion-forward deer who may be on the hunt for some stylish new threads. “You never know what those woodland creatures might be after,” said one expert. “It could be just a pair of jeggings, or it could be a statement jumpsuit. We have to be prepared for anything.”
