Kansas Car Dealerships Experience Unprecedented Visits from Escapee Goats, Employees Delightfully Baffled
WICHITA, KS – Two car dealerships had a surprising encounter with their baaaad new customers. Released earlier than expected, a pair of goats have been spotted by more than one employer loitering around their businesses. Their woolly escape and subsequent citywide romp were a delight to employees already struggling to find joy in the eyes of potential clients.
The rogue goats were believed to have taken advantage of the recent restructuring of livestock regulations in the state to make unexpected social calls while hiring a little entertainment on the side. The pair trotted onto two car sales lots on consecutive days, greeting staff and browsing automobile selections like any potential customer.
But while sales on these lots may have suffered during the pandemic, these employees found a true highlight in some newfound company. One employee at a dealership remarked, “we’ve had a rough year but honestly, when Jimmy and I saw those goats, it made everyone’s week.”
The goats, reportedly male, were initially placed in a holding area by security personnel. However, their overpowering charisma, and charming personalities led to their eventual exemption, and the return of natural order, as they were allowed to roam freely around the car lots.
It was mutually agreed upon by both stores to leave them to their own devices, opting to have a few laughs and destress from the burden of constant rejection. They could be found napping, grazing, and amusing many clients who decided to come in to look around.
Hundreds of photographs and videos of the goats circulated immediately on social media, putting Wichita in the international headlines and generating new business opportunities. Surprised by the goats’ admirers, salesmen pitched lines like “this car is so incredible; even the goats agreed they wanted to graze around it” or “this car must be so raw and rugged to attract the goats like that.”
The goats have, since, become animals of the hour with an increasing number of photos when they are caught on camera with a variety of new vehicles, even lending some advertising ideas to be used later.
It is hoped that businesses throughout Wichita will be able to benefit further from the goats’ charisma as the new season begins, despite the protests of City Council officials who are reportedly working to maintain “aesthetic integrity” of the area.
Despite the tragic aspects of the pandemic and the economic implications that surround it, businesses in Wichita have always found a way to celebrate the small joys in life.
