Michigan Man Thankful for Dog’s “Obedient” Efforts in Rescue
In a shocking twist of fate, a man who ignorantly ventured out onto thin ice in a frigid Michigan lake is alive today thanks to his beloved dog’s “obedient” actions. According to Michigan State Police, the man fell through the thin ice and into the icy waters below when he went to retrieve a loose ball on the lake. Luckily, his faithful canine companion knew exactly what to do and sprang into action.
The dog, whose name has not been disclosed, quickly realized that his owner was in peril and jumped into the frigid lake to swim to his rescue. The man, who was reportedly floundering in the water, managed to grab hold of the dog’s thick fur and hold on for dear life as the faithful pooch swam him to safety.
“Without his dog’s quick thinking and obedience, this man would not be here with us today,” said a Michigan State Police spokesperson. “We are grateful for the canine’s efforts and commend him for a job well done.”
The man, who has not been identified, was treated for hypothermia and released from the hospital the same day. When asked about his near-death experience, he expressed deep gratitude for his dog’s unwavering loyalty and obedience.
“I never realized just how obedient my dog was until he saved my life,” said the man. “I mean, who knew he was even capable of swimming? It just goes to show you never know what your pets are capable of until they’re put to the test.”
