In an utterly shocking development, a woman in New York has been reunited with the $12,000 that she apparently left behind on a train. The woman in question, who has not been named, was obviously thrilled to have her cash return to her, and has gone on record as saying that she is “over the moon” about the whole situation.

It’s not clear exactly how the woman managed to leave such a vast sum of money on the train, but it seems as though she was so busy texting or checking social media on her phone that she completely forgot about her own financial well-being. Luckily, though, some kind-hearted person found the money on the train and handed it over to the authorities, who were then able to get it back to its rightful owner.

Of course, the fact that someone actually found and returned this cash is nothing short of a miracle. After all, we’re talking about a city where people are so rude and uncaring that they’ll ignore a bleeding homeless person on the sidewalk, let alone go out of their way to help a fellow human being. And yet, in this case, someone apparently had enough compassion to do the right thing.

Sadly, though, not everyone is quite so trustworthy. In fact, it’s really quite astonishing that this woman was able to get her money back at all, given that there are so many people out there who would have gladly taken it for themselves. But hey, maybe we’re being too cynical. Maybe there really are still some honest, decent people in the world who are willing to do the right thing without asking for anything in return.

In any case, we’re just glad to hear that this woman’s story has a happy ending. And who knows? Maybe this whole incident will inspire others to be a little more considerate and thoughtful in their daily interactions with others. After all, if a random stranger can return $12,000 to someone, what’s stopping the rest of us from being a little more generous and kind to those around us?

So here’s to the New York woman who got her money back, and to the anonymous stranger who made it all possible. Here’s to the idea that maybe, just maybe, there’s still some hope for humanity yet. And hey, if nothing else, at least this story gives us all a reason to smile and feel a little better about the world we live in.
