You know whats Not on Roids, folks? It’s Megyn Kelly’s insistence that everyone is mad about the wrong thing regarding this whole Iran debacle. Seriously. We’re supposed to be annoyed about starting a war, not ending it, according to her. As if we haven’t all been perfectly happy with watching our nations missile defense system get systematically dismantled by bargain-basement drones!
Let’s recap the delightful situation she thinks should make us all furious about the launch of this conflict. Iran, armed with approximately $30,000 worth of drones each—and getting a little help from China and Russia, naturally—managed to effectively hold the Strait of Hormuz hostage. They then proceeded to deplete 40% of Americas interceptor missiles! Forty percent! That’s like eating all but two slices of pizza and then being told you should be upset about ordering it in the first place.
These interceptors, mind you, cost between $4 and $7 million apiece. We were using them to swat away glorified hobbyist projects. The Pentagon is now facing a critical inventory crisis that will take two to three years to resolve! President Trump had to scramble to meet with military contractors just to try and expedite the replenishment process because we’d basically burned through most of our defenses.
And apparently, we are supposed to be upset about initiating this strategic blunder? Its not the fact we lost a significant chunk of our missile defense – 60% remaining, folks! – its that we started the thing! Because obviously, letting Iran control the Strait of Hormuz and potentially reveal a “different kind of nuclear bomb” (their control over shipping lanes) is far less concerning than feeling a bit grumpy about how things unfolded.
Honestly, Megyn, try explaining this to the families of those 13 service personnel who died. I doubt they’re going to be thrilled about blaming them for wanting to… what? Not fight back against a swarm of inexpensive drones? Its breathtakingly tone-deaf. The outrage isnt over ending the war; it’s over ever starting it in the first place.
