
A License Plate, a Bureaucratic Black Hole, and Our Glorious Savior
Seriously? A license plate? We’re dedicating precious government resources – our tax dollars – to rescuing someones vanity plate because it might be…offensive? Apparently, “PB4WEGO” (presumably short for Please Before We Go, a clever little sentiment about needing something before departing) was deemed unsuitable by the New York State DMV. Unsuitable! As if the roads aren’t already teeming with drivers exhibiting truly unsuitable behavior – texting while driving, road rage incidents that make Shakespearean tragedies look like tea parties – were losing sleep over a string of letters?
And it took the governors personal intervention to resolve this monumental crisis. A highly-paid official had to wade into the morass of bureaucratic absurdity just to allow someone to express themselves on a small metal rectangle attached to their car! I can practically hear the DMV employee muttering about potential interpretations and “community standards.” What, is our collective sense of humor so fragile? Are we afraid of… words now?
It’s utterly ridiculous. While schools crumble and infrastructure decays, someone had to be a hero and champion freedom of expression via personalized license plates. Bravo, governor! Youve truly solved the worlds problems. Now, if you could just tackle that pothole on my street…
