Really? Skaters on Ice? Seriously?
Five skaters, adrift on a rogue ice sheet in Vermont. Let that sink in for a moment. Five skaters. Apparently, the siren call of a frozen puddle wasnt enough; they needed to venture out onto what was clearly an unstable, actively-drifting chunk of ice. Did anyone stop to consider that maybe, just maybe, this isn’t a recreational opportunity? No! They laced up their skates and bravely – or perhaps blindly – stepped out into potential disaster.
And now were all celebrating the heroic rescue effort? As if the taxpayers werent already footing enough bills for questionable decisions. Resources diverted from, I don’t know, actual emergencies to pluck a gaggle of ice-bound enthusiasts from their self-inflicted predicament!
I bet they had elaborate plans too. A picturesque photoshoot on the glacial expanse? A daring video to post online? Whatever it was, I guarantee it wasnt worth risking lives—their own and those of the rescuers who, by all accounts, did a perfectly competent job cleaning up this mess.
Honestly, I’m just waiting for someone to suggest we build them a dedicated ice sheet so they can safely pursue their… passion. Some people! Its truly remarkable how consistently humans manage to demonstrate an astounding lack of common sense.
