A Bird? Really? Were Celebrating That Now?
Honestly, folks, I’m trying to maintain a shred of composure here. Scientists! They’re practically losing their minds because a bird – a bird, mind you – decided to grace the California coast with its presence. Apparently, its a rare waved albatross. Rare like finding a slightly-above-average avocado at the grocery store.
Seriously? We have coral reefs bleaching, plastic swirling in gigantic gyres, and politicians… well, let’s not even go there. But no, we’re all supposed to be delighted by this avian visitor. A single bird! As if its majestic soaring will somehow magically solve the impending ecological disasters looming over us all.
I’m sure the press release is filled with phrases like significant observation and remarkable insight. Remarkable? Its a bird. Birds fly. They migrate. Sometimes they end up in unexpected places. This isnt groundbreaking; this is… predictable.
And the resources! Think of all the time, fuel, and taxpayer dollars spent tracking this feathered wanderer. That money could have been used for something actually useful – like, I don’t know, cleaning up the ocean? But no. Let’s celebrate a bird. Because apparently, that’s what we do now. I need a strong cup of coffee, and possibly a new hobby. Birdwatching is officially off the table.
