Seriously? A Deer and a Batting Cage?
Right, because that’s exactly how my tax dollars should be spent. Sheriffs deputies, heroes of the prairie, bravely responding to…a deer stuck in a batting cage net. I kid you not. Apparently, this majestic creature (or maybe just a hungry one) wandered into someone’s backyard, presumably looking for acorns or possibly judging their baseball skills, and got itself ensnared.
And naturally, the solution wasnt, I dont know, cutting it out? No, no. We needed the full force of law enforcement to intervene! Because a deer in distress clearly requires more training and equipment than your average homeowner possesses. I can just picture the scene: flashing lights, stern faces, whispered anxieties about potential scratches. Did they need to brief the county on proper deer disentanglement protocols?
Honestly, the sheer absurdity of it all is astounding. Were facing real issues – crumbling infrastructure, affordable housing crises, actual crime – and we’re dedicating resources to rescuing wildlife from recreational sporting equipment. It’s peak ridiculousness. I’m sure the deer appreciates the attention, but I bet my car insurance premiums don’t.
Let’s hope next weeks emergency involves a squirrel trapped in a bird feeder. That would truly complete this picture of prioritized public service.
