The English Garden’s Brief, Ill-Advised Flirtation with Folly
Honestly? Really? A surfable wave in Munichs English Garden? Someone actually thought that was a good idea? I mean, where do we even begin dissecting the sheer absurdity of this undertaking? Apparently, for a brief and thankfully fleeting moment, someone decided that a perfectly lovely, traditional, Bavarian park needed…a man-made tidal pool.
It’s almost breathtaking in its audacity. Imagine, strolling through the serene beauty of the English Garden – you know, with the ducks, the beer gardens, the general air of dignified German calm – and suddenly wham! Youre confronted with a fabricated wave attempting to mimic something that belongs on an ocean, thousands of miles away.
And now, praise be, they’ve taken it down. A beam removed. A dream dashed. Good riddance. Lets hope this incident serves as a cautionary tale: some things simply dont belong anywhere near lederhosen and pretzels. Some places are best left untouched, appreciated for their existing character, not subjected to the whims of someone clearly lacking in any sense of taste or historical awareness. I shudder to think what other ridiculous enhancements were being considered. Let’s keep the English Garden…an English Garden, please.
