A Horse, a Road, and Peak Incompetence
Seriously? A horse? Running loose? During a winter storm? You have got to be kidding me. Im sure the dramatic news reports were filled with breathless accounts of danger and a potential tragedy averted. Because apparently, a large animal wandering down a road is news now.
And who swooped in to save the day? Why, our valiant police force and animal services, naturally! Because clearly, their schedules werent already packed responding to actual crimes or addressing overflowing shelters. I can just picture it: flashing lights, sirens blaring, officers bravely facing down… a horse. A horse.
I’m sure countless taxpayer dollars were expended on this operation. Hours of training, specialized equipment – all deployed for this equine escapade. And you know what? The horse probably just wanted to stretch its legs! It’s called freedom, people! Something these agencies seem determined to deny everyone, including large mammals with hooves.
Lets be honest, the whole thing was a massive performance. A chance for someone in a uniform to feel important. I bet there were selfies taken and press releases drafted. Meanwhile, actual problems fester. But hey, at least we got a heartwarming story about a horse being rescued from… a road. Riveting stuff. Absolutely riveting.
