## Another Miracle? Really? (The Tamarin and That Language Model)

Right, let’s talk about triplets. Tiny, fluffy, endangered triplets swinging around at Walt Disney World. Adorable, I suppose, if you’re into manufactured happiness and staged wildlife experiences. But honestly, the news is just a *perfect* distraction from…well, everything else. And wouldn’t you know it? Right alongside this heartwarming primate saga comes the announcement of yet another language model, a 3-12 billion parameter behemoth they’re apparently very proud of. Because what we *really* need is more sophisticated text generation capabilities!

It’s all so incredibly… timely, isn’t it? Nature births adorable endangered creatures – *yay!* – and the tech overlords churn out another digital echo chamber capable of regurgitating vaguely coherent sentences. It’s a beautiful synergy, really. A perfect illustration of our collective priorities. We marvel at the fragility of life while simultaneously fueling the relentless march toward simulated sentience that will probably replace it eventually.

I mean, seriously, three baby monkeys? Fantastic! I’m sure they’ll be delightful to watch from behind reinforced glass. Meanwhile, this… *thing* is supposed to revolutionize something. What exactly? More convincing marketing copy? Slightly more nuanced chatbot responses? Another step towards a future where distinguishing between human creativity and algorithmic mimicry becomes an Olympic sport?

Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate a good monkey. And I’m sure the caretakers at Disney World are doing vital work. But can we please have just *one* day without being bombarded with news of both miniature primates and increasingly complex artificial intelligences vying for our attention? It’s exhausting! I think I need to go stare directly into a sunbeam and contemplate the existential absurdity of it all. Preferably somewhere far, far away from meticulously curated happiness.
