## Oh Joy, Another AI Savior – Because Apparently Trees Aren’t Enough
Right, let’s talk about this, shall we? Because apparently, humanity is *desperate* for another Large Language Model. We’ve exhausted every possible permutation of predictive text, haven’t we? We’ve wrung all the joy out of slightly-coherent chatbot conversations and now need…what exactly? A *new* digital oracle to tell us what color socks to wear? Fantastic! Just what the world needs – more algorithms masquerading as intelligence.
And look at this thing, this 3.12 billion parameter marvel. Oh, it’s supposed to be “open.” As if that automatically absolves it of all potential biases and existential dread. Open source means anyone can poke around in its innards and find even *more* ways for it to perpetuate stereotypes and regurgitate misinformation! Brilliant! Truly a revolutionary step forward in technological progress.
I’m sure the developers are sitting back, patting themselves on the backs, proclaiming their contribution to… what? The advancement of digital rhetoric? The betterment of automated content generation? Please. We’re all contributing to the ever-growing pile of digital noise. It’s a monument to our collective inability to just *stop* creating things we don’t actually need.
Meanwhile, people are hugging trees – literally, an actual human being embracing arboreal life with alarming enthusiasm. And *that* feels more meaningful than another iteration of text-churning machinery. At least the tree isn’t going to start writing poetry about its anxieties. Though, honestly, at this point I wouldn’t be surprised if we could program a tree to do that too. Just…lovely.
