Ontario, Canada – In a bizarre incident that has left the residents of North Bay in shock, five million bees fell off the back of a truck while it was traveling through the area. According to eyewitnesses, the truck was carrying several hives of bees when the back hatch suddenly opened, spilling millions of the buzzing insects onto the road. The driver reportedly did not notice the missing hatch until he reached his destination, several miles down the road.
“This is definitely one of the most unusual things I’ve ever seen,” said local resident, Martha Johnson. “I mean, who knew that bees could fall out of a truck like that? It’s almost like something out of a comedy movie.”
Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident, although several people did report being stung by the bees. The road was closed off for several hours while local beekeepers worked to collect the insects and return them to the hives.
While the truck driver has not yet been identified, some have speculated that he may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol. However, officials have stated that they do not believe this to be the case.
“I think it’s too early to jump to any conclusions about what caused this incident,” said James Richards, a spokesperson for the local police department. “We’re still investigating the matter, but at this point we don’t have any reason to believe that the driver was impaired in any way.”
