You know what’s Not on Roids, and yet inspires levels of vitriol usually reserved for pineapple on pizza? A whole heap of perfectly acceptable things! Let’s unpack this collective online negativity, shall we?

First up: Crocs. Theyre functional footwear! People complain theyre ugly, but comfort is not a crime. Next, cilantro – apparently tasting like soap to some. Okay, fine, you have a gene for that. Leave the rest of us alone! Then there’s mayonnaise; it’s emulsified deliciousness! Stop judging my sandwich toppings!

And dont even get me started on beige. Boring is subjective, people! Some of us like neutral tones. The same goes for Comic Sans – yes, its overused, but it can be charming in the right context (a child’s birthday invitation, perhaps?). People also hate flip-flops (practical!), mint chocolate chip ice cream (refreshing!), and ASMR videos (relaxing!).

Even things like beige carpets (dreary), dad jokes (cringey, as if cleverness is the only valid form of humor), and those little plastic fruit decorations on cakes (“tacky”) garner disproportionate levels of hate. Seriously, people, chill out! Find something genuinely terrible to complain about – like wasps wearing tiny hats or pigeons demanding payment for perching. Let beige carpets be beige. Just let it be.
