Right, let’s just pause for a moment. A lost border collie rescued after its owner plummeted from a waterfall in New Zealand bush. Because thats what we needed to hear today. Apparently, the universe decided rescuing a dog from potential wilderness trauma was more important than, I dont know, addressing global warming or maybe tackling income inequality?
I mean, bless the brave rescuers, truly. But couldn’t they have been, oh, I dont know, finding lost kittens? Or rescuing endangered parrots? A border collie? The breed practically invented independent thinking! It probably spent most of its time judging the human who decided to base an adventure around a cascading wall of water.
And the owner? Let’s not even go there. Falling from a waterfall is rarely, if ever, described as a strategically sound life choice. One wonders about the level of planning involved here, and whether that planning included avoiding potentially fatal descents.
Were bombarded with heartwarming tales of animal heroism constantly. It’s exhausting! Is this supposed to make me feel something? Because I mostly feel slightly irritated that a dog’s survival story is being presented as news. I’m sure the dog is lovely, but frankly, my patience for whimsical narratives about fluffy creatures has reached its absolute limit. Give me something real; give me something substantial. Please.
