The Peak of Human Ingenuity (and Feline Suffering)
Seriously? Twenty-six hair ties? Let that sink in for a moment. We’ve reached peak human achievement, havent we? Not curing cancer, not achieving world peace, but apparently inventing a new and exciting sport: How Many Rubber Bands Can I Forcefully Introduce into My Cats Digestive System?
I mean, what is wrong with people? Do you just wander around scattering these things like some sort of modern-day Hansel and Gretel, except instead of breadcrumbs leading to a witch’s house, it leads to a poor, unsuspecting feline requiring emergency surgery? Was this cat actively soliciting a painful medical procedure? Did he think he was playing some bizarre game of interdimensional hide-and-seek with elastic bands?
Its beyond frustrating. It’s insulting. And it speaks volumes about the level of… well, I’m not sure what to call it. Apathy? Laziness? A complete lack of awareness? A six-year-old cat! He clearly isnt going around collecting these things for some nefarious feline purpose. Someone put them there. Someone is responsible for this needless suffering.
And now, thanks to this delightful display of carelessness, a dedicated animal rescue is burdened with the cost and emotional toll of fixing what a human carelessly broke. Wonderful. Just wonderful.
