Seriously? A Pig Has a World Record Now?!
Im genuinely struggling to process this level of absurdity. Apparently, we’ve reached peak societal collapse because a pig – yes, an actual farm animal that wallows in mud and eats slop – has been awarded a Guinness World Record for having 1.1 million Instagram followers. A pig! I mean, what next? Are we going to give awards to squirrels for burying nuts effectively? Will pigeons get recognized for their… well, whatever it is they do?
It’s just… the pinnacle of ridiculousness. Were celebrating an animal’s ability to accrue online popularity while actual humans are struggling with poverty, climate change, and existential dread. A pig! It probably doesnt even understand what Instagram is. Someone else is likely curating its feed, crafting captions like “Penny enjoying a lovely mud bath!” (Im not making that up), and exploiting its adorable, undoubtedly accidental, existence for likes and engagement.
This isn’t about celebrating anything meaningful. Its a testament to how easily distracted we are, how readily we bestow praise on the frivolous, and how low the bar has sunk for achieving “recognition” these days. A pig! I need a nap. And maybe a strong drink.
