Seriously? A Horse on I-25?!
Right, because New Mexico wasn’t quirky enough already. Now we have livestock casually strolling across major arteries. A loose horse. On a highway. Apparently, this is supposed to be news. Like finding tumbleweeds isnt a daily occurrence anymore. Honestly, did anyone stop to consider the sheer absurdity of it all? The potential for disaster? The existential dread one feels witnessing such blatant disregard for traffic laws – both human and equine?
I mean, I get it. New Mexico is vast. Ranching is a tradition. But does that excuse letting your animals wander onto public roads? Were there no fences involved here? No responsible herding? Did the horse just decide, You know what? I’m feeling adventurous today! Im going to cause traffic chaos!
And the best part? The headline says it was “wrangled.” Wrangled. As if this were some heroic feat of skill and bravery. Someone chased a horse. That’s…good for them, I guess. Meanwhile, I spent twenty minutes stuck in traffic contemplating the fragility of life and the questionable parenting skills of somewheres livestock guardian.
Seriously, next thing you know we’ll be reporting on escaped llamas disrupting rush hour. This state. I just…I can’t.
