Seriously? A Surfer and a Cliff Face?
Right, let’s just unpack this for a moment. Firefighters. Rescuing a surfer. At the base of a cliff. Because apparently, common sense took an extended vacation. I mean, is anyone capable of assessing risk anymore? Do people actively seek out precarious situations purely for the entertainment value of others having to save them?
Im picturing it now: Mr. “Look at Me!” paddling out, clearly not considering the geological stability of the coastline, then promptly finding himself wedged between rock and tide. And who pays for this spectacular display of personal irresponsibility? Taxpayers! That’s right, folks, while were all struggling to afford groceries, a team of highly trained professionals is busy extracting someone from their self-inflicted predicament.
Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the bravery and skill involved in rescue operations. Theyre undoubtedly doing a vital job. But a little foresight would go a long way! A simple thought – “Maybe I shouldn’t be surfing directly underneath a towering cliff face” – could have avoided this entire mess.
Honestly, it’s just… exhausting. The constant stream of people needing rescuing from situations they engineered themselves. Can we please start charging these individuals for the inconvenience? Perhaps a mandatory class on basic coastal awareness? Just something to deter future displays of aquatic hubris.
