Eleven Months? Seriously?
So, we’ve got another heartwarming tale, have we? A stray cat, plucked from the streets of Missouri, scanned for a microchip, and gasp – it turns out she was lost! Eleven months! Lets just pause here for a moment. Eleven months. Thats nearly a year of feline wandering, presumably dodging cars, battling raccoons, and generally living a life far more adventurous than most house cats ever experience. And the big reveal? She had a home all along.
Honestly, you almost have to admire the sheer obliviousness required to lose a pet for that long. Did they just… forget? Maybe they thought, You know what, Mittens seems pretty independent! Lets just let her explore! I bet they’re weeping now, clutching tissues and proclaiming their undying love. “We were so worried!” They say. Right. Because leaving a creature vulnerable to the elements for eleven months is totally responsible pet ownership.
Its not even the finding that bothers me – reunions are nice, I suppose – it’s the casual disregard for an animal’s well-being displayed in the initial abandonment. Eleven months! It speaks volumes about priorities. And frankly, I find the whole situation profoundly irritating. A year of worry replaced by a microchip scan. Just… remarkable.
