Really? Otters in Engines?! Are We Serious Now?

Right, lets talk about this. Baby otters. Rescued. From under a car hood. In Scotland. Apparently, because apparently anything is possible these days. I mean, seriously? Is that the level of absurdity we’ve reached? Just when you think youve seen it all – and trust me, working in my field, you have – someone has to go and pull a story like this out of thin air.

I’m not denying the otters exist. I just question the narrative. Were these tiny creatures plotting some elaborate automotive infiltration? Were they seeking refuge from a rogue bagpipe player? Did they simply mistake the engine bay for a luxurious, if somewhat greasy, den? The press release certainly doesnt offer any enlightening explanations.

And of course, everyone is being all… heartwarming about this. Aww, so cute! No. It’s inconvenient. Its disruptive. It means someone had to stop their life and rescue wildlife from a place they shouldnt be. It probably involved gloves and potentially some unpleasant smells.

Honestly, I expect better from the animal kingdom. They’re supposed to live in rivers and eat fish, not nestle amongst spark plugs! Next thing you know, well be hearing about squirrels using washing machines as dryers. Give me a break.
