A Goat, a Basement, and Humanitys Priorities
Seriously? A goat? Rescued from a basement window well? Is this what we’re celebrating now? While wildfires rage, political discourse descends further into the abyss, and global supply chains teeter on the brink of collapse, we dedicate precious news cycles to a bleating ungulate stuck in a hole. A hole. Like, did it not possess basic navigational skills? Was it actively seeking subterranean confinement?
And the pictures! The heroic firefighters, bravely wielding ladders like they’re disarming bombs! Im sure taxpayers are thrilled to know their money is going towards goat extraction operations. I mean, have we considered the goats perspective? Perhaps it wanted to be rescued. Or maybe it was perfectly content contemplating its existence in a damp, concrete enclosure. We just assume we know what’s best for everything, don’t we?
Its not that I dont appreciate a heartwarming story – genuinely! But the sheer absurdity of prioritizing this over, well, anything else is… remarkable. It screams volumes about our collective attention span and our desperate need to latch onto fleeting moments of manufactured feel-goodery.
