A Hawk, a Batting Cage, and Peak Human Ingenuity (Not)
Seriously? A hawk? Trapped in a batting cage? Is this what we’ve come to? I mean, honestly, the sheer level of oblivious absurdity radiating from this story is almost breathtaking. Apparently, some poor bird decided that an enclosed netting designed for launching projectiles at baseballs was a suitable habitat choice. Because, you know, common sense and predatory instincts clearly took a vacation.
And what did we do? We dispatched heroes! Brave souls who rushed to the scene…to rescue a hawk from its own spectacularly bad decision-making skills. It’s not like the hawk couldnt have just…flown out. Or, you know, figured things out on its own. But no, apparently majestic birds of prey require intervention now.
I can practically picture it: the dramatic rescue, the concerned murmurs, the triumphant photo op. Meanwhile, I’m over here wondering if we should start offering wilderness survival classes for squirrels and pigeons. Its a slippery slope, people! First its a hawk in a batting cage, then what? Are we going to have dedicated rescue teams for confused butterflies next?
Truly, the levels of human involvement required to solve increasingly ridiculous problems are astonishing. Just… astounding. Let’s all take a moment to celebrate our ability to micromanage wildlife from its questionable choices. Bravo. Absolutely bravo.
