Seriously? Another one? Let me guess, Brenda from accounting, who complains about the office thermostat and brings in lukewarm Tupperware full of something vaguely resembling casserole, just won two million dollars on a Powerball ticket. And naturally, it was “spur-of-the-moment.” Because that’s how these things work, right? People meticulously plan their lives, investing wisely, saving diligently…and then Brenda throws down five bucks on a whim and strikes gold.
It’s just wonderful. Absolutely marvelous. Im sure she’ll use it to solve world hunger or fund groundbreaking scientific research. Probably not. More likely, its new flooring for the kitchen and an RV. Because that’s what people who win lotteries do, isn’t it? They abandon all responsibility and embrace a lifestyle of questionable decisions fueled by sheer luck.
And the news outlets? Don’t even get me started! “Local Woman Overjoyed!” theyll chirp, showcasing her beaming face while I’m over here diligently contributing to society and getting… what? A slightly larger 401k that will probably be worth less than this womans lottery winnings by the time I retire.
Its a shining example of how the universe operates with an utter disregard for fairness, logic, or even basic decency. Bravo, Brenda. Bravo.
