
A Deer in the Basement? Really?!
Seriously? A deer? In a basement? For two days? This is Wisconsin, not some woodland fairytale! We’re supposed to be practical, sensible people who build houses with…you know…structural integrity. Yet here we are, reading about how a deer somehow managed to break into a home in Grand Chute and then proceeded to stage a two-day residency in the basement.
I can just picture it: this majestic creature, presumably seeking shelter from…what? A mild breeze? And instead of finding peace under a friendly oak tree, it decides my neighbors foundation is prime real estate! Two days! Can you imagine the mess? The potential for damage?! I bet the owners are thrilled to come home and find their basement transformed into a five-star deer hotel.
And let’s be honest, who’s responsible here? Is it the deer’s fault for being…a deer? Or is it the homeowners for building a house that apparently offers open access to subterranean habitats? I suspect we’ll hear plenty of excuses about “unforeseen circumstances” and “wildlife encroachment.” Please. It just highlights a certain lack of foresight, doesnt it? A deer in the basement!
