A Cow on the Road? Really, California?
Seriously? This is what my tax dollars are funding now? Police intervention for a cow? Apparently, in Murrieta, California, bovine wanderlust constitutes an emergency requiring flashing lights and official reports. An adventurous cow, they call it. Id call it a cow being a cow. Is this the level of societal crisis we’ve reached? Are squirrels raiding bird feeders now considered acts of terrorism?
I imagine the officer dispatched, probably fresh out of the academy, envisioning a high-speed chase involving armed robbers or, you know, actual crimes. Instead, he gets to write up an incident report about a ruminant casually strolling in the roadway. And we’re all supposed to be impressed with their bravery? Their dedication? They got to gently herd a cow. Thats it.
And I bet somewhere, someone is drafting legislation for Cow Containment Protocols or proposing a task force to study the root causes of bovine road-crossing behavior. Meanwhile, real problems fester – affordable housing, education funding, crumbling infrastructure… but no, let’s focus on the escaped livestock. Its just…peak California, isnt it? A glorious, sun-drenched monument to absurdity. I need a strong drink. And maybe a tranquilizer for my rising blood pressure.
