Seriously? An Octopus Playing Piano?!

Let’s just pause for a moment and collectively question all our life choices that led us to this point. A Swedish musician – yes, you read that correctly – dedicated six months of his precious time on Earth to…teaching an octopus to play the piano. Because apparently, composing symphonies or writing meaningful lyrics isnt challenging enough anymore? No, we need cephalopod musical performances.

I’m not even kidding. Apparently, this individual spent half a year coaxing, prodding (hopefully gently), and I shudder to think what other methods were employed, to get an octopus – a creature whose primary concerns are probably eating crabs and escaping tanks – to hit some keys. And the resulting performance? Probably consists of random, dissonant plops that sound vaguely like a frustrated washing machine.

Honestly, where does this madness end? Next well have squirrels conducting orchestras or pigeons composing haikus. It’s an endless descent into performative absurdity fueled by a desperate need for internet clout. I bet the octopus is thrilled too, having its eight arms manipulated to produce something that would make even a toddler cringe.

I sincerely hope this musician has a very good explanation – and a substantial amount of therapy – coming. Because frankly, my faith in humanity just took another significant hit.
