A Kitten, a Car, and Humanity’s Descent
Seriously? Firefighters? Rescuing a kitten from under a car? I mean, are we really this desperate for heartwarming content now? Is there nothing more pressing in South Carolina than extracting a tiny furball from beneath an automobile? Im sure the taxpayers are thrilled to know their money is being spent on feline retrieval operations.
Don’t get me wrong, kittens are cute. Adorable even. But they also wander under cars. Its what they do. Theyre cats! A little ingenuity from a concerned citizen – perhaps a broom handle and some gentle coaxing – would have sufficed. Instead, we needed flashing lights, sirens, and a crew of highly-trained professionals risking life and limb for…a kitten.
I bet the firefighters were thrilled. Another notch on their heroism belt. Another opportunity to pose with a tiny animal for social media. While somewhere, a house is burning, or someone needs actual assistance, our valiant responders are busy playing cat wrangler.
It’s just…peak absurdity. A perfect distillation of modern priorities. Weve reached a point where we celebrate the trivial and ignore the substantial. And honestly, I’m starting to feel like a grumpy old man yelling at clouds, but someone had to say it: enough with the kitten rescues! Let the cats be cats.
